What Are Ziti Tagliati?
La Molisana Ziti Tagliati N.36 are a short, ridged durum wheat pasta made from 100% Italian wheat. They come in 500 g packs, in a case of 24. Ziti are a southern Italian classic, traditionally the pasta for festive baked dishes, and the cut (tagliati) version is sized for everyday plating and al forno preparations.
La Molisana, 100% Italian Wheat
The pasta is made by La Molisana in Campobasso, in the Molise region. It uses 100% Italian durum wheat from Molise, Abruzzo, Puglia, Lazio and Marche, milled in Italy. The bronze drawing and stone husking are signatures of the brand, giving the pasta a rough surface and a full wheat flavour.
Bronze-Drawn and Ridged
The ziti are both ridged and bronze-drawn, so the surface has two ways to hold sauce: the grooves catch the dressing and the porous bronze finish makes it cling. This is exactly what a baked pasta needs, where the sauce and cheese must stay with the pasta through the oven.
Professional Uses
- Pasta al forno and baked ziti, the classic use.
- Meat ragu and rich tomato sauces.
- Vegetable and cheese dressings.
- Hearty everyday primi in restaurants and canteens.
