From a Blacksmith’s Workshop to Global Leadership
Gi.Metal was founded in 1986 in a small artisan forge in the heart of Tuscany. Founder Marco D’Annibale, still CEO today, transformed that traditional workshop into a globally recognized industrial company specializing in professional pizzeria equipment.
Marco spotted the potential in custom-made pizza peels that local pizzaiolos were requesting, and began supplying them to distributors across Italy. From a simple, practical idea grew an international business that now equips the best pizzerias in the world.
After 40 years of operation, Gi.Metal is the global market leader: an 8,000 m² production facility in Montale (Pistoia), a US subsidiary in Chicago opened in 2004, and a branch in Curitiba, Brazil. The company serves over 2,000 distributors in 85 countries and produces more than 120,000 pizza peels per year — all 100% Made in Italy.
