Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano?
Both are DOP hard cheeses, but Parmigiano Reggiano has a more restricted production area (Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna left of the Reno, Mantova right of the Po) and stricter rules. The flavour is more complex and the minimum ageing is 12 months compared to 9 for Grana Padano.
What ageing options of Parmigiano Reggiano do you offer?
We offer Parmigiano Reggiano DOP in three ageing stages: 24 months (ideal for grating and cooking), 36 months (perfect for the table and aperitifs) and 48 months (extra aged, for tasting). Available as whole wheels, half wheels and portioned.
Are the tortellini fresh or dried?
We offer fresh handmade tortellini with traditional Bolognese filling (pork, Prosciutto Crudo, Mortadella, Parmigiano Reggiano). Delivered fresh or frozen to ensure the highest quality.
How is Prosciutto di Parma transported?
Prosciutto di Parma DOP is transported under controlled temperature from Italy to Switzerland. Available whole with bone, boneless or pre-sliced in vacuum trays for restaurants.
What is the minimum order quantity?
We don't have a strict minimum order. We recommend at least CHF 200 to optimise delivery costs. For recurring orders we offer customised terms.
